Mumbai: Wunderman Thompson South Asia CEO Shamsuddin “Shams” Jasani, who took on his new role in November, has set a goal to double the business in three years.
In an exclusive interaction with TOI, Jasani said that strategic acquisitions will form an important part of this vision. Although Jasani did not share any specific numbers, he said that Wunderman Thompson in India is boosting significant growth for global business.
The vision is to double our size in the next three years. Sublime though it is, said Gasani, it is a vision that we feel will be made possible by building on this incredible legacy that we have. A key part of what Jasani calls his “Wunderman Thompson Reboot” is the transformation from agency to partner to client.
“Over the next year, we will talk about how we can evolve in not only delivering a great brand experience but also transforming our business into a commerce consumer experience by owning the entire consumer experience pathway for the entire business, not just the brand. Every touch point in the consumer experience , even in the post-purchase journey, is critical. This advances our discussions within customers – from CEOs to CIOs, CEOs and CEOs, too,” Gassani said.
One of Jasani’s missions is also to develop the Indian business into what Wunderman Thompson is globally, taking the assets that India has strength and building it globally. He added that the 1,400-strong Wunderman Thompson India could boost global growth in terms of talent. Al Jassani said the company has a strong focus on enhancing its capabilities in the digital realm as well. Mirum India, a digital/marketing technology company, is seamlessly integrated with the parent company.
Prior to joining Wunderman Thompson as CEO, after promoting Tarun Rai as ED Strategic Initiatives (APAC), Jasani expanded Isobar into a 300-strong digital agency.
