Leading K-pop agency SM Entertainment has launched a new membership service for its fans in the form of digital passports, the agency said Monday.

Music Nation SM Town Meta-Passport is a revamped version of the previous Music Nation SM Town Passport, which was a membership program that gave points and special benefits when its members attended SM artists’ events.

The passport has been redesigned to operate in the agency’s virtual world called “Music Nation SM Town”.

With the digital passport, its members, also called Music Nation SM Town citizens, can enjoy benefits when they attend virtual events of SM artists.

The company has not yet determined the exact benefits of the new membership program.

The most recent event held in the company’s virtual world was the year-end party “SMTOWN Live 2022: SMCU Express @ Kwangya” on Saturday.

“[The digital passport] It connects the physical world with the digital world and records all information transparently,” said a staff member from SM Entertainment.

“We hope this will bring new fun and benefits to SM fans around the world.”

Music Nation SM Town Meta-Passport is available on the official SM Town & Store website, www.SMTOWNandSTORE.com. The deadline to apply for Passport Membership is 11:59 PM on January 31
