Shaun began his new role at Markel with more than 20 years of experience in sales, business development and risk consulting, and was most recently appointed as Director of Enterprise Sales at Encircle Inc, a technology startup focused on the productivity and documentation software for the insurance and recovery industries. Prior to Encircle Inc, Sean worked in several industries including finance, retail, construction, technology, and insurance. Sean has served as an industry adjoining broker and CEO, resulting in relationships and engagement with members at the third group level in some of Canada’s largest insurance companies. Sean’s proven ability to deliver and exceed corporate growth plans makes him a strategic and welcome hire for the business development team.
Bailey joins Markel from Marketing Division (TMD), a multi-faceted marketing agency with an extensive client list and experience helping insurance companies market creatively and effectively. At TMD Bailey, he has held various positions focusing on customer relations and management, most recently as Customer Experience and Discovery Manager. Prior to her work at TMD Bailey, she held various sales and marketing positions with reputable organizations in the industry including JLT and Aon. Bailey’s customer-focused skills will be at their peak as Markel develops their understanding of our customers’ needs, voice and success, and is happily embraced by our growing business development team.

In collaboration with product line leaders and the sales and marketing team, Sean and Bailey contribute to the development of client-facing sales and marketing plans for Canada. The main focus of their roles is to leverage data and market insights to proactively build the customer journey with a focus on the customer experience.
