LaLiga, the organizing body responsible for the first and second classifications of Spanish football, has appointed Octavi Anoro as international director.

Anoro, who initially joined LaLiga in 2017, has spent the past three years with the organization serving as Deputy International Director and Head of LaLiga Global Network (LLGN), a project whose mission is to increase the reach of Spanish football.

In his new role, Anoro will continue to lead LLGN and its 44 delegates worldwide, while heading the coordination of LaLiga’s 11 offices worldwide and overseeing the organization’s international strategy.

This role was previously held by Oscar Mayo before being appointed as Executive General Manager.

“I am taking on this challenge with the aim of ensuring that our business and international standing continue to grow with the same momentum we have seen in recent years, while also engaging all clubs in their international expansion,” said Anoro.

“To achieve this, we will focus on developing the integration between the team of delegates and offices, taking full advantage of the two most important competitive advantages over other organizations in the sports and entertainment industry: our extensive physical presence around the world and local market knowledge that we have five years after this project.”
