Fingerpaint promoted three senior executives. Agency vet Bill McClain, former partner, becomes global chief. Mark Wellman, former president of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey office, will now lead Fingerpaint Marketing, while Tracy Blackwell will take on the role of former Wellman at Cedar Knolls.

Promotions arrive on the heels of the Fingerpaint buying spree, including recent purchases of medical communications specialist MedThink and the Engage data and analytics store in London. The latest deal may have prompted McKellen to promote the new position, increasing the company’s presence in Europe.

“I am humbled and excited to take on this new role at such a pivotal time for the biopharma industry — and for our company,” he said in a statement. “Our innovative business capabilities help create solutions that change beliefs, behavior, performance and, ultimately, mean better patient outcomes.”

In the new role, McEllen will oversee the business units Fingerpaint 1798, Leaderboard Branding, Engage, MedThink and Fingerpaint Marketing. He will report to company founder Ed Mitzen, who will take over as Chairman and CEO.

Fingerpaint brought in $85 million in revenue in 2020, according to MM+M’s 2021 Agency 100. Mitzen said he expects the company to generate $140 million in revenue through 2021.
