Company Description

Started in 1993 by Duncan and Kee-Leen Irvine, Rapid Blue is built on passion, strategic thinking, innovation, quality and deep insights for our audiences. We’ve grown from a boutique company into a production powerhouse, infused a portfolio of global hits with a local flavour, developed original content, created authentic brand experiences, earned tons of awards, and built deep and lasting relationships.

Our productions and facilities include Dancing with the Stars, The Bachelorette, Family Feud, Got Talent, Shark Tank, Come Dine With Me, Love Island and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here to name a few.

Creativity and agility are at the heart of what we do, and we are experts at creating innovative and cost-effective solutions to any content challenge that comes our way. Whether it’s a TV commission or developing content around a brand marketing strategy, we are able to leverage our incredible production expertise and global networking to create talked about content that makes a tangible difference to our clients and their audiences. We are currently proposing a number of streaming and internet solutions to various clients facing unprecedented challenges due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Rapid Blue is all about strategy, process, craftsmanship, and collaboration, and we’ll work hard to learn about a brand, channel, or platform to make sure they achieve their goals as smoothly and quickly as possible. We are experts in aggregating advertiser-funded programs, with a proven track record of successful offerings that have had a positive impact on our clients’ earnings. We are able to align brands with the world’s largest entertainment formats, or create something customized that truly conveys the brand’s message.

The Internet and mobile are the most powerful platforms for transforming content into personal, intuitive and accessible experiences, especially for African audiences interested in mobile phones, where access to broadcasts may be limited. We know how to adapt content designed for on-air viewers to the non-linear creative strategies of online consumers.

BBC Studios invested in Rapid Blue in 2016, and we are their production partners in Africa, having produced The Great South African Bake Off, Evergreen Come Dine With Me and a new show, First Dates South Africa.
